Ahmed and Rachid Mourabit are young brothers who live and work in the Atlantic coastal town of Essouira, commonly known in Morocco as "Windy City". Eschewing the traditional metal work churned out by fellow craftsmen of the town, namely in the shape of lamps for the tourists, Ahmed and Rachid take discarded everyday objects like teapots, locks and scissors, and together with a variety of nuts, bolts and screws, create whimsical sculptures with great charm and humour. |
