One of the leading names in Zimbabwean art for over four decades now, Arthur Azevedo is widely recognised as the founder of the scrap metal art movement.  A leading light at the Delta Gallery in Harare he has also been honoured with a retrospective at the National.  Originally studying in Italy, he has taught art in Zimbabwe since the 1960's and has exhibited extensively within the country as well as abroad.  Deceptive simplicity is his trademark, and he ingeniously is able to capture the very essence of his subject with minimal strokes and fluid motion.
