Hornbill House began in 1998 when John and Erna Dry moved to Hermanus from Pretoria. Artist Erna and designer John developed a range of sophisticated ethnic African sculpture, and now oversee a team of 14 local helpers who work with them in the studio. They make their own clay in-house, and use a combination of glaze and oxide which creates individual pieces in earthy natural shades. |
