South African Thomas Ngulube used to work on stone sculptures at his brother's shop, repairing and polishing.  When he was 17, an artist friend taught him how to sculpt in stone.  That fired up his passion for art, and he began experimenting in wood and metal.  Since then, he has become a shining light in the Johannesburg art scene.  Of his art, he says; "I take nature and break it down into my own abstract images".  He is proactive and upbeat, and in his own words says, "I look for the positivity not the negativity; I am inspired by the happiness in the townships and the city of Jozi".
